Karachi —Despite global recession, financial crunch and strong competition in the international markets, Pakistan’s rice exports have crossed the $2 billion mark in the current fiscal year.

According to the data available here, Pakistan exported a total of 2.896 million tons rice to different countries in the period from July 1, 2008 to June 27, 2009.
